Setting Assignments, Files, Links, or Collections to Default for All New Patients

Overview

As a mental health professional, you may have essential resources you want to automatically provide to every new patient. This can include worksheets, assessments, introductory materials, or even helpful videos from your own channel. In Reflective, you can mark any resource in your library—assignments, files, links, or link collections—to be assigned by default to any new patient who joins your practice.

Once you set a resource as a default, it will appear in the Resources or Assignments section of the patient’s workbook, as well as in their mobile app, without any additional steps required from you

Setting Assignments to Load for All New Patients

  1. Go to Resources in the main navigation.
  2. Select the Assignments tab.
  3. Locate the worksheets, assessments, or infosheets you want to automatically share.
  4. Click Preview on the assignment tile.
  5. At the bottom of the preview, find the label “Assign this for all new patients by default.”
  6. Toggle it to “Yes.”
  7. Click Assign to finalize.

Any new patient you add, or who joins via your invite link, will now automatically have these assignments in their workbook. If you need to adjust reminder schedules or configure assignment details, open any existing patient’s workbook to edit these settings as needed.

Setting Files to Load for All New Patients

  1. Go to Resources in the main navigation.
  2. Select the Files tab.
  3. Hover over the file tile you want to set as default, then click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  4. At the bottom of the Edit File panel, locate “Assign this for all new patients by default.”
  5. Toggle it to “Yes.”
  6. Click Edit File to save your changes.

This file will now be automatically added to each new patient’s resource list in their mobile app.

Setting Links to Load for All New Patients

  1. Go to Resources in the main navigation.
  2. Select the Links tab.
  3. Hover over the link tile you want to set as default, then click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  4. At the bottom of the Edit Link panel, look for “Assign this for all new patients by default.”
  5. Toggle it to “Yes.”
  6. Click Save Link to confirm.

Your chosen link will now appear automatically in the Resources section for every new patient.

Setting Link Collections to Load for All New Patients

  1. Go to Resources in the main navigation.
  2. Select the Links tab.
  3. Hover over the link collection tile you want to set as default, then click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  4. Below the Collection Description, check the box labeled “Load this collection for all new patients by default.”
  5. Click Save Collection at the bottom.

All new patients will automatically receive every link contained in the collection in their mobile app’s Resources section.

Once these default settings are in place, any patient who joins your practice will immediately have access to these resources, saving you time and ensuring everyone gets the same foundational materials.
